change nose jewelry or wait?

I had my nose pierced 5 weeks ago with a gun (yes, not recommended). The stud isn't the best, and is rough around the edges so when my daughter bumps it, it becomes irritated. I want to change it to a screw in which is gold (22k). Should I do it now or wait longer? I'm afraid I won't get the new jewelry in. Please don't say "go to reputable piercer". I'm in india and people aren't very well trained. Everyone has a pierced nose, but nobody thinks much about how it is done, or that it requires any expertise.

It is sometimes slightly red, but no sign of infection and not painful. I'm still cleaning it twice a say with salt water.

I wouldn't reccomend changing it just yet. The nose is a triiiiicky part of the body and if it is getting irritated by it being "bumped", then the stress of having the stud removed and the new one worked in might be painful for you =(

I would give it about two more weeks if you can manage it. If you really can't stand it, then give it a try, but it might hurt to get the screw in there.

well you can typically change it in about a month.
just make sure everything has been cleaned, including your hands, nose, jewelry your changing to, etc. and make the switch quickly.
i had no problems changing my nose rings after a month, although i would recommend getting a bend-it-yourself L shaped nose ring, they are much easier to get in then a nose screw. Much easier.

6 weeks on the main and be quite carefull once you alter it. pay attention for what style of jewerly you put in, i've got observed with my nostril ring if i exchange it in any respect it swells up and hurts like it desires to re-heal. with a bit of luck you have not have been given this undertaking stable success. and save it sparkling.

i waited 5 months to first change mine out and my piercer said that was way too soon and it got infected, not fun!
