All 4 of my daughters ears were pierced as infants. That way by the time they are old enough, or aware enough to pick with them,...the piercing has healed already. I think its a bit tripe to generalize any group, culture or people, concerning "looks"!

Many Americans (both male and female) have their ears pierced well before age 12. It is generally a choice that parents make.

My daughter is 29 and hasn’t pierced her ears or anything else.
I got my ears pierced while in HS.
I know people here in the US who have had their infant’s ears pierced.
The USA is huge. With a lot of different people living here. There is no one age where people get their ears pierced. Some Americans never pierce their ears.

The decision making process, that is why 12 years old are too young to vote, drink, give their life for their country and so on and so forth. Wait until you are 18 or older, when you can make stupid decisions like this and perhaps a tattoo to accent your piercings as well.

You clearly know nothing then. Because I got my ears pierced when I was a baby. My sisters, when they were 3 to 5 years old or so. Don't general Americans like an imbecile.

Juveniles don't have the ability to foresee the consequences of their stupidity.
That's why parents are held legally liable for them until they are 18.
And that's why you must be 18 or have a parent's consent for a tattoo.
A good lawyer can easily claim that allowing a juvenile to get a tattoo is the definition of child abuse and neglect and remove custody of the child and have the parents jailed
