Have you ever walked across a pond on stones?

Little girl
walked the stone
path through the pond.
Every
moss covered
step taken thoughtfully.
Mom's voice in her head,
"be sure you don't fall in the water."
Steps
with perfected
purpose.
A little fish
flopped up from the water
startled and amazed
little girl.
Doll shoes
on slippery stone
could not stop
her plunge.
Bottom first
into the pond.
Walked home
with wet shoes,
wet new play dress.
Mom said, "I thought
I told you not to fall in the water."
Mom didn't understand
the wonder
of little fish.

Slippery stones and little fish...not a good combination. But where would we be without wondering at those stupid fish? Probably a lot drier, but much less experienced.

I loved the hidden meaning, Cilla.

Creative :-)

I've had my share of wet shoes - well, boots actually - was never allowed to roam - with my good paten mary jane's on. No matter how hard one tries - to perfect the path - surprises and the unexpected - have a way of upsetting things. It is hard when things are misunderstood ♥

No I haven't
I guess Mom will have to think of a new way to tell little girl about being careful. Very cute.
