Do you think maybe it's just from the stress of caring for my older two? I have a 12 month old and a 3 1/2 year old. They have been pretty rotten lately.

All of it (lol). My back pain is usually in my lower back but that's mostly due to the fact that I have 2 disks hit out of place on the lower left side and I need surgery to correct it. I have had my upper back hurt at times too. My back pain is more like a traveling circus (lol). =D I tend to think that my upper back pain, when I do get it, is more intense than the lower back pain. But that could also be because I'm more used to dealing with lower back pain rather than upper back pain. Good luck and congrats! Hopefully you won't have to be in pain too much longer!

The lower part of my back hurts like hell if i lie on my back too long or if i sit in a chair for too long. Drives me mad. It's strange that its your upper back hurting though i thought it was generally your lower back as there is so much more pressure there.

I'd say my upper back and hips hurt me the most. But, I've carried fairly high and my breasts are enormous to put it mildly. I'm 36+ weeks now. Have you considered getting a massage? I've been getting them 1x month throughout the pregnancy and now 1x/week for the last month. I swear they are the only thing (besides my baby!) that I look forward to right now as they make me feel so much better! :]

The middle of my back was always aching at the end of my pregnancy. I never felt pain in my lower back until I was in labor, even though it's common. I had upper back pain whenever I had heartburn or gas. What you're feeling is perfectly normal, even though it is rather uncomfortable. Congrats, though. =)
