My rabbit is scared of fresh mint leaves, any ideas why?

I've had my rabbit for 2 weeks now and thought i'd treat her today to some fresh mint leaves which i've researched to be a good treat for them. They were ok with me approaching the cage etc like they normally were. They came to see what I had in my hand but the minute she sniffed it, she freaked out making it clear she wanted out and the minute I let her out she ran under the sofa. She's loves parsley but she's new to mint as far as i know?

Is it possible that maybe she has associated mint with something bad, like she was provided some in transit between breeder and pet shop maybe?? Or did the new smell freak her out? Anyone else experienced similar with their rabbits?

Its probably shes just not use to that specific smell. I got a new rabbit too and anytime id try and give her fruit she would kick and fuss until i let her go, but if i give her veggies she'll stay. Mint is a very strong smell for a sensitive rabbits nose, it probably just startled her. Id just put a tiny piece of it in her cage and maybe she'll try it on her own when shes ready.
I got my rabbit when she was two years old though, not sure how old yours was when you got her. Shes just not accustom to the smell.

try a banana as a treat my rabbit is obsessed with bananas lol.

Good luck

No offense, but not rabbits are the same. Your rabbit doesn't like the mint. Accept it.

No idea but try giving your rabbit green beans it makes them very energetic. Kind of like catnip for rabbits.
