I am a PA resident who was on a one-day trip to Columbus, OH. I got a $25 parking ticket at a meter, which had a 10-day pay period. It is now $40 according to their web site. What will happen if I take no action on this ticket? Also, do I have a chance at getting it knocked back down to $25?

If you do not pay the ticket it will continue to incur penalties. Eventually if they feel they cannot collect it will get turned over to a collection agency. They will ding your credit reports as a charge off. It is just not worth it to simply not pay the $40.00 bucks. Be smart and pay the ticket and let your mind forget about it.

You will not get it bumped back down to 25, they are charging you extra for not paying on time. Chances are if you wait another month, it will be even more, and even more. Now, you don't have to pay it, but if you ever plan on visiting there again, I would advise it. My father didn't pay a ticket in a state, and never got in trouble, but if he ever got pulled over down there he would be sent to jail most likely. I suggest just paying it off. Forty dollars is not alot, and it;s nice to have a clean record, never know when you'll need it.
Pay the ticket it will only continue to increase and eventually a warrant will be issued. Bad news if you travel back to Ohio often, it's not worth the hassle.
