Will TSA accept an expired driver's license and proof of identity to get past airport screen?

I was supposed to get my renewed driver's license after 2 weeks and I have a flight coming up very soon. My new license hasn't arrived and my current license has a hole punched through it. I have my old license and the renewal receipt.

You should have current, valid I.D. They will accept alternate formsof i.D.,like credit cards, but they will also put you through an extra security check.

Well, Counselor, TSA's website info shows that they will accept a state-issued license. Validity for use is not their concern, however. You can read about this at the URL shown below.

Well first of all, a credit card is not a form of identification. Secondly, I would use a valid form of I.D. If your driver's license isn't current/valid, bring it along with a birth certificate or something to that tune.
