I did. But I saw the movie first, then read the books so my opinion is a bit skewed. Of course I kept referring to the movie in my head when I was reading and scenes didn't match up sometimes. But I liked the movie better.

New Moon looks fantastic too, and I think it will be better or just as good as the book. I wasn't a huge fan of Eclipse, so we'll have to wait and see about that one. As for Breaking Dawn, I'm one of the few who actually liked it! I think it will make for a good, even if a little weird, movie. =)

Well I had absolutely NO interest in reading the book.

The book is aimed at young teenagers – which I am not.

I saw the movie first only because I hired it out to make up a cheap package deal at the video store................but I absolutely loved it – fantastic casting, great soundtrack and visuals.

And the movie prompted me to read the book.

After the first reading of the book I thought – what the heck is all the fuss about.

Read it again to see if I had missed anything – and the story strangely grew on me. So much so, that I have just finished Eclipse and are preparing to buy the next book.

(Although Eclipse really annoyed me - but that is another issue)

So yes, in answer to your question, I really preferred the Twilight movie to the book.

However, had I read and fallen in love with the book first, my views may have been the other way round.

The book was WAY better. The movie seemed kind of low budget, I do agree with the casting though. It just didn't draw me in like the books did, hopefully New Moon comes out better with the new director...
