Is Avoderm dog food harmful to dogs? Avocado toxic?

This is in the form of a question as well as the possible answer of Yes! as a means of alerting other dog owners.

I dont know for a fact that it IS for sure, that is why I'm asking others, but, I got a new bag of it last night to see if my dogs liked it. Our smaller one, but 22 lbs.,I only gave a few pieces and our med. sized dog in height but only 26 lbs., I gave more like 1/2 a cup total. I saw that she liked the first 1/4 cup so I gave her more with her other kibble to let her adjust to it.
THEN, the small one threw up and the other one had diarrhea!! I supposed I had given her too much and that it just didnt agree with the other one's tummy UNTIL a friend , today, told me that avocados are toxic to dogs!! No wonder mine got rid of it quickly!

Anyone else had any experiences with Avoderm or know anything about this?

If you look it up online, 1 out of 5 sites , at least, will tell you the "fruit" of the avocado is also toxic because it contains "persin". ....a fatty acid. That is what is toxic and its in all parts of the avocado.

Only the pit and the skin are toxic (toxic for you as well as your dog)

Avoderm is great food, and you probably had upset tummies from the diet change. What's toxic is an avocado PIT, not the meaty part.

Poinsettas. You might as well call them "A Doggie Death Sentence". Food: Grapes Chocolate (Though how much is toxic depends on the dog size... I don't believe chocolate is toxic tho... heres why: My 95-100 lb dog got into a JUMBO bag of hershey kisses, and a JUMBO 5 lb hershey bar. He had bad gas, but that was it.
