I THINK JACK SAID WHAT I AM SAYING MORE SUCCINCTLY AND DESERVES THE 'BEST ANSWER' FOR HIS 'BIG MAC' AND 'GREASY FRIES' EXPLANATION OF AMERICAN 'GIRLS'.
I have travelled the world and I can tell you that American women are viewed as the "adolescents" of females around the world. They are viewed as decadent whores by lots, but mainly seen as immature and childish by most men and women in other countries. It is a very silly and egocentric view to think that people everywhere aspire to act and behave as Americans do. While all people view 'freedom' as a human concept and not an American one, and see that there are some economic advantages to living in the US, many do not equate the decadence of Western females as 'progress' or 'freedom' and scoff and laugh at it mostly... as do many of my European and Asian friends...adult women who are sexy, and intelligent, but to not aspire to act or behave like 'children', absolutely reject the idea of 'feminism' and are family oriented, respectful women who adore and respect men and their own cultures and customs and aspire to 'happiness' rather than insanity.
If you ask American girls (I say girls on purpose) how the world views them, they are likely to give some narcissistic viewpoint, that is not based upon real feedback or emotional maturity about it. They haven't travelled and asked questions to others.
If you go outside this country to other countries you will see that most countries have their own cultures and customs and are well aware of how Americans view themselves. They are likely to laugh too. I've been embarassed to call myself an American many times while abroad, disgusted with the whores in my country portraying themselves on TV and in Hollywood as the epitome of female behavior, and gleefully I find out that they are laughed at, scoffed at and seen as 'morons' by women in most other cultures who refuse to even identify with them as "women"..and refer to them as "American girls" like the Tom Petty song says... "she was..an American GIRL"... not woman. The song "American Woman... get away from me ! American Woman... let me be ...don't come knocking on my front door, I don't want to see your face no more " by Lenny Kravitz says it all right there......
That should be the theme song for feminism in the US. They alienate the rest of the world with their decadence and narcissistic views and slowly over the past decade have made themselves into the laughing stock of the female populace in the world.
Marry a woman from Asia, Latin/South America or Russia/Eastern Europe. Do NOT marry a woman from the United States born and raised here. That is foolishness. You can use them and play with them but do not have a permanent bond with one of them. They are 'girls' in comparison to what is really out there for beautiful women.
American women THINK the rest of the world views them differently. They are like the stupid prom queen who spent her entire senior year staring at herself in the mirror, too stupid to notice the rest of the entire female populace absolutely hated her and thought she was an ugly tart. Eventually the men also felt the same way, tired of her pompous notion that she was somehow special. When Prom Night ends (as it is slowly dawning on feminist/American females) the reality will appear....that they should be ashamed of themselves and will be the least attractive lot on the block. Men are avoiding them like the plague now, if given a choice. The White American Female is a dying breed...having less and less offspring and being bypassed for women in other countries, races, cultures who are more attractive and mature and resemble 'feminine' instead of mimicking 'masculine' traits.

down below to MBLUE120 's 'waa, waa, waa whining about her miserable life..... didn't your mother ever tell you that people who call other people 'idiots' look like the BIGGEST IDIOT ? Yes you certainly do epitomize the typical feminist hypocrite, right in your own prose. Chastising and belittling and then making yourself look stupid by name calling those you can't beat down, because its impossible for you to beat back logic, even resorting to emotional tirade (typical feminist blunt tactics... b*tch, moan, attack , the three pillars of their ideology). Lunatics. I"m sure your siblings can't stand you.

Haha, I like how everyone instead answered the question "How do you/the rest of the world view American women?" Even tho you weren't bashing, people took the opportunity to. Don't all mothers tell their daughters "If they say mean things about you, they probably are just jealous!"
Honestly, I am aware that the rest of the world feels that they are so much better than Americans (in general, not just women). But it's not something I think about often, as I have a pretty busy life and the opinions someone has on the other side of the world based on stereotypes don't in the grand scheme of things really matter.
You know what's the funniest part about this whole thing? Americans generally DON'T think negatively of the rest of the world. These people that are answering this question have instilled this strange insecurity in many Americans -- so much so that it's very common for Americans to bash themselves. We're so into political correctness that we'd never talk about how all British people don't know where their dentist office is and the French take a shower every other month. Oh wait, those things aren't true are they?
EDIT: actually darling, I'm not a feminist. Nice try.
When was I whining about how terrible my life is? Don't try to pretend that you know anything about my life or how my siblings feel about me - seeing as how they are all fighting over the next opportunity to come spend a weekend with me I doubt they hate me. I said I don't give a **** how you feel about me, did that bother you?
OH you're one of those self-loathing Americans I spoke about! Very sad. Are you just mad because you've had such a terrible life and no one saved you? You were probably a loner, because you think you're somehow better than every other American woman.
And how is anything you said "logic"? So you can be as ignorant as you want, but I can't call you an idiot for it. And that makes *me* stupid? Hunny, I could run circles around you.

I am not American, and I never lived there, but I have tons of American friends who are very intelligent, witty and fantastic people, men and women. It is about the individual, not the nationality
You find good people and bad people in every country, you find deep thinkers and superficial thinkers everywhere.
So I really can't answer this question, as i don't know to which kind of woman you are asking about. I suppose you refer to a stereotype of the "American Woman", again, none of the American women I know fit that stereotype, as I don't fit the stereotype of my own nationality.

I'm not a woman but I am an America. I can tell you that most women I talk to don't really care. I know I don't care much about what other countries think about me. Seriously, if someone is going to form an opinion about me without having met me, why should I care what they think about me? I don't mean to sound cocky or like a jerk, I'm just saying that if someone is going to think negatively or positively about me with out having met me then it can't possibly be an accurate assessment of my personality.
After reading what mblue said then how klistenin responded I can see how other countries might think our women are egocentric. mblue posted her thoughts then klistenin decided to go back and respond to what she said, and tell her she is stupid for saying things that weren't said. If "she" really has traveled the world(you never know who is actually telling the truth on here) then it is safe to assume that people have formed negative opinions about American women,

As an American woman, I have really never given any thought to how the rest of the world views me or us.
