That depends on who you ask; broadly, the answer differs across cultures.
Philosophical theories about meaning of life are bullshit because there is no correct answer, just baseless opinions of some. I've decided to stop thinking about it, have fun as much as I can and care for my family/friends -- unless someone comes up with a convincing scientific explanation.
Maybe there is no specific purpose of life, the universe was created by a random chance.
