Manning Vs. Brady, colts and pats fans read!?
Seeing as i'm a colts fan, people think this will be biased. But I am truly going to delve deep into the subject and put everything on the table, then you can tell me who you think is better.
REGULAR SEASON:
In the regular season, the colts always seem to be a superbowl favorite and manning is always in the MVP race, thanks to some great offensive teammates, you can never count manning out of a game.
Brady has always put up good numbers. not great, but good. The 2007 season being the highlight and one of the primary reasons he is placed above manning on many people charts. He threw for an insane 50 tds while crushing every team he played.
Manning gets the edge here because of his absolutely crazy numbers and his record setting pace. the qb record book will have two words in it once he has retired. "Manning, Peyton"
POST SEASON
Manning is terrible in the post season, his defense actually steps up (as they should) but he doesn't deliver. He has about 6 or 7 years to prove everyone wrong and win some more rings, otherwise he will always be known as a choker.
Brady is ridiculously good here, hopefully the SB loss wasn't a sign of bad things to come... oh, wait, he destroyed his knee in the next game. sorry pats fans
Brady gets the edge here. no need to explain.
CLUTCHNESS:
I don't care what people say, Manning is WAY more clutch than Montana, Bradshaw, Elway, and all those other retired guys. The top three are favre manning and brady (in no particular order). He will definitely have the most game tying/winning drives in 4th qtr/OT once he is done.
Brady however gets it done in the playoffs. I don't call that clutch for one reason only, this is a qb's time to perform, nothing special about it.
No one gets the edge. this is dead even, if brady can come back next season we might have a winner, as of now. nothing.
OTHER ARGUMENTS FOR MANNING:
People say that manning has always had more talent around him. That seems like the truth, but his talent hasn't been much better. If anything, i rate manning's surrounding offense an 8/10 and brady's a 7/10. Manning has had one receiver better than brady ever had, harrison. Reggie Wayne started out slow and developed because he worked hard and had Manning throwing to him. He makes them better, not vice versa. Also, Clark learned from Marcus Pollard his first two years, he had a great veteran to learn from. His offensive line is worse than Brady's, Saturday and Glenn are the only two worth knowing, the others are all nobodies. If you still don't believe me, look at Brandon Stokely. He came to the colts after a miserable first two seasons, and in 2004 he was a 1000 yard 10 touchdown reciever. He left the colts and he's a nobody again, Manning made him better. If Gonzales takes off next year, you have got to believe me.
The no huddle is not cheap, if a team isn't paying attention or gets caught offsides, too bad. It takes a great mind to run it.
MORE ARGUMENTS FOR BRADY:
Lets make a list:
50 touchdowns, he beat manning
worse receivers, Moss has had only 1 year with brady.
Welker was his top target
more superbowls
better playoffs
16 wins
better playoffs
7-3 record versus manning
better playoffs
i know i didn't cover enough, but i'm running out of time.
So who would you chose? why do you agree and why do you disagree. Email me if you have anything else to say. just don't cuss me out or call me stupid.
