Exercise tips please?

I have recently decided to try and loose weight and have started a healthier diet in order to do so. I would also like to start exercising to help with the weight loss.

I have Achilles tendonosis, which means that my heels and ankles are very weak so I am unable to run or walk for great distances. I have taken up swimming but was wondering if anyone else had any ideas as to what I could do in order to increase my activity level.

How about bike riding, yoga, and pilates?

Weight training would also be good, even if you keep the weights relatively light.
