Why is the Muslim world so divided?

Seems like now days Muslims are more after each other than anyone else. Shia, Sunni, Sufi, Quranist, and etc... We proudly say that there is only ONE Quran yet every Muslim follows something different. We bash each other instead of working together in these hard time when Muslim world is under pressure to show unity against the fundamentalist. Can't we just be happy that the other person is also Muslim? why should we play "my version of Islam is better than your version of Islam"? o and ever heard of divide and destroy?

Sounds a lot like Christians & the Bible doesn't it? You'd think all the infighting would get old after a while.

Islam is going the same way as Christians did a long time ago. I have deep respect for Islam because I truly believe in parts of the quran. I love reading it. It just bothers me that it is so long and wordy sometimes making it hard to truly find the meaning. The moods and dispositions of the people reading it can find what they need to justify their actions at the time, if your angry it approves of 'justified' murder, if you are at peace it brings you more peace. I do not think this religion is going to last because the world and even a majority of peaceful Muslims are going to reject it in the future (like many Christians today) It may be a long time until the world can finally put religious doctrine and selfish beliefs aside and worship god, life, love and one another in peace.

guy continuously submits religious actuality to his very own interpretations. There are easily approximately 8 branches of Islam in the present day. Sufis, who're a paranormal branch that have been around for a while. And noticeably the Twelvers, who wait for a twelfth Imam, who's prophesied back. If Shaitan sends a faker first, to aim the followers of Islam, and that they persist with a coaching of hatred. they are going to be greater risky than Al Qiada!

Muslims base things on the Quran, but we also change it up a little because of our culture. Every culture is different. For example, an Arabian women could walk out in the public all covered up, however, a Pakistani women could walk out just wearing their traditional clothes - Salwaar Kameez.

Monotheism (single god, all else evil lies) arose from intolerance. Perhaps beliefs that are almost like hers but different threaten the monotheist because it is easy for believers to slip into a familiar looking heresy.

For contrast, Hinduism contains so many radically different perspectives, but nobody feels the need to hate those who think differently or to carbomb them. In fact, it took the two major monotheisms and their intolerance to force Hindus to even define themselves as a religion and think in a sectarian way.

It simply is the fate of all monotheism to split up and fight each other for dominance.
