Im now 16 weeks pregnant and my son is 2 1/2 so I don't remember too much about the beginning of my pregnancy with him. Sometimes I think im feeling the baby move around but im not sure if it's that or just me. It makes me nervous that im this far along and haven't felt a kick yet. What movements should I be feeling right now. Any advice to keep me from going insane until my ultrasound on the 24th? I get paranoid hearing stories about missed miscarriages and things like that. All I want is for my son to be healthy and for my new baby to be a healthy baby and it drives me crazy that I can only control so much and the rest it out of my hands. Well anyway thanks for everyone's answers in advance.

Dont worry about quickening yet. many woman dont feel the first movements until 20 weeks or later.
I know exactly how you feel. I worry about stuff all the time, especially when it has to do with my 20 month old son, or this 17 week pregnancy, for sure.
I know it is common to feel movement around 20 weeks, where you can really identify the movements and you are aware of them. You won't feel consistent movement until 25-28 weeks. That's when you start actually counting your kicks and watching for decreased movement.
I felt my first flutter around 17 weeks with my first and around 15 weeks with this one. Now, I am feeling flutters a couple times a day.
Don't worry. Stress is an unnecessary part of pregnancy that can steal away your joy! Relax and soak in the miracle of the baby you are making! Best of luck! :)
Missed miscarriages are fairly rare and worrying won't do you any good anyways, so stop that! Besides, it's not uncommon at all to not feel movement yet, even with a second pregnancy. I didn't feel my little girl until 17 weeks and even then, I wasn't 100% it was her and not just something to do with my digestive system.
Eat something sweet or drink something acidic like OJ, or caffeinated like pop or coffee. Lie down on your left side and see if you feel anything in about 20 minutes. If you don't, there's still no need to worry...that's just an optimal way to be able to feel your baby.
I had to pull out my records again (I write everything down) and found that I felt baby movement around 12-18 weeks. Baby movements are most commonly mistaken for gas. I mistook mine for gas. But once you start feeling the same feeling in your tunny everyday, you'll know it's the baby moving and you'll be able to differentiate it from gas. It just feels like a movement. Like gas moving through your stomach except that it's not gas, it's your baby :-) Its really hard to tell at first, especially if this is your first child. It might even feel like a thump/thud in your belly. But after a while, you'll get used to the movement...and you'll become more and more excited about meeting your new baby. I know I did! :-)
You are still quite early to worry about not feeling movement. I didn't feel my baby move until 20 weeks and this was about when the doctor said to expect it. I wouldn't be nervous at all. If you have made it past first trimester and heard the heartbeat the risk of miscarriage is very low! I'm sure baby is just fine!
