Seniors - have you listed your telephone number with the?
Do Not Call Registry? I have just found out that it is necessary to renew your phone number with this organization every two years. I was suddenly getting a lot of unwanted telemarketers calling and could not understand why, as I had registered previously. So today I went back into the Do Not Call Registry and found that my new listing is only good until 07/2011! Whoa - talk about a recession proof job! Do you register with this organization or do you put up with nuisance callers?I put this in Seniors but everyone may answer. CJ

Lynn: Google "Do not call Registry" and you will get an enrollment form! Good luck. CJ

Good question CJ. I'm on the national registry and will check again to make sure it hasn't run out. My youngest daughter took the SAT last month and now our phone is ringing off the hook with people wanting to sell us software for the SAT. I just tell them that we are registered on the SAT website and can get any help she would need if she decides to take the SAT her Senior year. I also tell them we are on the Do Not Call Registry and if they call us again I WILL report them.
I had my last number listed, but I forget when that was. However I do have a newer number that is not listed through any of the phone books at the present time. I would guess that I can google for the registry and find a link to connect with. It's possible that I need to renew my protection as well. As I'm sure my number will be printed in the next phone book. Your information will be of service to a great many people.
Well you could always put a bogus phone number and a real address. That way you can get extra paper for the recycle bin, but no time-wasting phone calls. And Maybe you could win a BRAND NEW CAR or a fridge magnet.
I have never listed with them. I don't get but maybe two nuisance calls and if I don't know the number I don't answer and let it go to voice mail. The local paper calls and i go off on a rant about printers ink being dirty and they hang up on me. My number is listed too.
My job used to involve talking on the phone all day, and I hardly ever use the phone anymore unless I want or have to. I have registered, but I also do not answer the phone unless it is someone on my contacts list.
