What to use with Redken Shimmer One in 6N on dark brown hair?

I am a complete novice and got a tube of Shimmer One by Redken in the 6N shade. My hair is dark brown. What color will it turn my hair? What do I need to use with it? I got the Per-Oxide 20 Developer to go with it. What are the step by step directions for using the products? I know nothing, so please include even the "dummy" steps for me.

6N is a light brown to dark blonde. It lifts 1 level so you will end up with slightly lighter brown. Mix the color and developer in equal part, 1 oz to 1oz and leave on 20 minutes.
