Vista Window Media Not Recognizing I Have a Burner...?

I have a laptop with Windows Vista Os on it. Ive been able to burn cds via windows media before but for the past few weeks it says: Connect burner and restart the player.

Ive already tried to uninstall/reinstall the drivers but it keeps failing when I try to reinstall and it has the yellow icon next to it when I look at it in the device manager.

Ive deleted the upper and lower filters

Ive disable/enabled the drivers

Went to microsoft.com to download the fixit

Restarted my laptop plenty of times but its still not recognizing the burner.

Any 1 have any other suggestions for me? I would very much appreciate it

Check to see that the file imapi.exe is in the directory C:\windows\system32. This is the file in charge of the CD Burning Service? and tell me

Do you have windows Vista DVD? If then search it in the DVD and copy and paste to the system32 directory.

And also
You'll have to go to 'Device manager-DVD/CD ROM Drive-update driver-make sure YOU choose the driver (IMAP 1.5)', and hopefully all with WMP 11 will be well.
