I always hear music in my head. Like my own made up music. It sounds like I'm actually listening to a song I've never heard before. I also make up lyrics in my head, they come out of nowhere but they make sense. I do it kind of unconsciously, without thinking. Is there something wrong with me? It doesn't interfere with my life, but I've been doing it for so long and only just noticed it. I asked other people about it and they said they don't do it. Is there a name for this?

You have a gift of music. Only the true musical artists hear so much music in their heads. Develop this gift and don't let anyone tell you it isn't "normal" or stop you from doing what you will with your gift. I am an artist and "see" things in my head that I may or may not later use in my art work. Nothing is wrong with you but a lot is right!
It sounds to me like a gift. If you can sing, then start writing the lyrics down. If not, then you can write music for others. It's a well paying career that can bring you much success. Start playing an instrument so you can become more familiar with music notation and write your own music.
Sleep with your guitar beside you in the bed and start writing tabs and play the song directly when you wake up. I have the same problem as you. I start thinking about a drum beat and then an idea for a good song pops up, 2 minutes later I have forgotten the whole thing. So try to get it all stuck in your head and on paper as well.
i don't do it myself. I just occasionally get a song jammed in my head and cannot stop singing it, its incredibly annoying. for no reason that i can think of - i have miley cyrus whirling around today - yippee! -_-
perhaps you're a musical genius? you should try writing down some of the stuff you come up with.
