predictions on 2009-2010 nfl season? give me your opinions?
These are my guesses for the 2009-2010 nfl season.
seattle seahawks: 6-10 oakland raiders: 5-11 san diego chargers: 8-8 san francisco 49ers: 3-13 arizona cardinals: 10-6 denver broncos: 6-10 minnesota vikings: 7-9 kansas city chiefs: 8-8 dallas cowboys: 9-7 houston texans: 6-10 new orleans saints: 10-6 tennessee titans: 11-5 st.louis rams: 4-12 indianapolis colts: 9-7(no more tony dungie) chicago bears: 8-8 green bay packers:6-10 detroit lions: 3-13 cincinatti bengals: 2-14 atlanta falcons: 12-4 jacksonville jaguars: 10-6 or 11-5 tampa bay buccaneers: 7-9 miami dolphins: 7-9 or 8-8 cleveland browns:4-12 pittsburgh steelers: 13-3 buffalo bills: 5-11 carolina panthers:10-6 washington redskins: 9-7 baltimore ravens: 11-5 philadelphia eagles: 9-7 new york jets:7-9 new york giants: 10-6 new england patriots:10-6(tom brady will never be 100%, but good addition to the team:Fred Taylor)
super bowl teams: atlanta falcons and the jacksonville jaguars
you may argue with that but the jaguars may come back from that horrible 5-11 season to a dominating season the 2007-2008 season was a good season for the jaguars, im sure most of you will say "well the jaguars can't beat the steelers in the playoffs",i beg to differ; they have beat the steelers twice in 1 season, why couldnt they do it again? im not so sure on the falcons though, they might, or maybe the underdog saints will rise and go to their first superbowl hopefully.
The saints and the jaguars would be a stupendous matchup in a superbowl if you think about it. The saints have never been to a super bowl and neither have the jaguars, both teams would play amazingly hard because they want that trophy that neither of them can get their hands on. Two amazing RB's on both teams. Reggie Bush versus Maurice Jones-Drew. Drew Brees is better than David Garrard in pass yards. It would be a great game. I couldnt really give you a definate answer on who would win, but i'd say the Jacksonville Jaguars, they got some new additions on their defense and a few good WR's including Tory Holt, Tiquan Underwood, and others. Their offensive line has been spiffied and cleaned up since most of their offensive line was destroyed by the titans in one of the first few games last season.
Please leave comments... I would love to hear other opinions.
I looked at this by division...who's winning the NFC North? You have the Bears at 8-8, the Vikings at 7-9, the Packers at 6-10, and the Lions at 3-13. This division is waaay too competitive to be won at 8-8, or even 9-7. Second of all, I disagree with the 49ers going 3-13...come on they don't suck as much as people think, some have them as a sleeper playoff team. There is also no way the Chiefs and Chargers are going 8-8. Chiefs should be at like 6-10 while Chargers should be a 10-6. Also I don't think the Jags can turn things around to 11-5 in one season. Yeah, we've seen it before but I think 8-8 or 9-7 is a much more reasonable prediction. Otherwise everything else is OK but not too reasonable.
I'll give you my gut reactions without taking the time to research transitions, coaching changes, and schedules.
Seattle 6-10? Who are they going to lose to....SF? Seriously, the QB will be healthy as will much of the defense. Add a superstar WR and a crappy division (sans Arizona) and you got the making of a great season.
Oakland just can't do anything right..5-11 sounds about right
SD, poor SD. LT is at the end and everything is falling apart. Idiots fired a great coach for getting to the playoffs...us Buffalo fans would rename the town for a coach who could do that. 8-8 is about right, sadly just because they get to play Oak and KC.
SF - right on...Gore can't save the world.
Ari - who they gonna lose 6 to? Granted the boldin issue will be a problem, but if their running game is straightened out, they'll be nearly unstoppable. I see their issue last year was assuming hightower could handle the full load. he's a great goal-line guy but not the right style/size/whatever for 20-25 carries per game. They now understand that.
Denver - Kyle Orton? Bahahahahha man did they screw that one up.
Minnesota...Hmmmm with orwithout Favre? I see that team as an almost contender that just needs stability at QB. 4 guaranteed wins with chicago and detroit, figure a split with GB...who else they play?
KC - Hmm...they showed some offensive promise last year but rebuilding a team like that could be measured in decades. 5-11 considering they get to play weaker teams (I assume).
Dallas - The bridesmaids of the NFC should do better than 9-7. Losing TO shouldn't be that big of a deal.
Houston seems to be onto something. They have a very good QB and a pretty special RB. Not sure how he'll do after all them carries last year, but we'll see. They would have been better last year if the QB stayed healthy...that was last year wasn't it? With the fall of Indy I see them doing a LOT better this year.
N.O. - Oh yeah, I agree with you on that one
Tennessee - Not sure about their QB situation. like baltimore, you can get to the SB on defense alone but at some point you gotta throw the ball. 8-8?
Stl - What can one really say about them? Rebuild!
Indi - The core is dying...Most people will rank them high basically just because they are the colts. Oh how the mighty fall. I agree with 9-7 if they're lucky
Chicago - well they get to play detroit twice but really...what does this team have? Defense fell apart, special teams fell apart, nothing special at WR...but with Cutler and a great RB goodthings can happen. I'll take 8-8 only because Minn and GB will beat them up.
GB 6-10? Based on what? Jennings is the next Marvin Harrison, the RB situation is always weird there...like Denver they always get hurt and like Denver some noname always shows up and produces. A great rookie year for Rodgers, god willing their defense will straighten out a little and they'll be looking at the playoffs.
Detroit will win 3?
Cinci will run with a broken down RB as their best option, the loss of Housh, a QB who may or may not be good, we just don't know yet, and ochoego. 2 wins sounds good to me.
Atlanta. every year we get some team that comes out of nowhere then disappears the next year. Atl is a strong candidate. Maybe my lack of knowledge about them just spoils my opinion but they're either the luckiest team around or they are going to be a powerhouse for the next 7 years. Rookie RB, QB, coach and they pulled off a great one last year...my jury is still out though.
Jax - Mojo is the real deal, the O-line should be healthier, I agree with 11-5.
TB - do they still play football? 2-14
Miami - ahh the Bill Parcels affect - Amazing what he can do. 10 wins as the jets and NE will both be worse.
Cle - uhm...this years Detroit? Well they get to play Cinci so it's a tossup.
Pitts - The system survived last year, hopefully will continue to grow. It's a powerhouse. I agree with 13
Bills - 5-11 if they're lucky.TO will help but having a qb who can get you the ball would help. He won'tdraw much coverage over 10 yards as Edwards can't throw it that far in a real game. He's one of them studious QBs who has all the right answers and shines during practice. I'm just bitter, but it'll be fun to watch TO this year.
Carolina - Very hard to figure out whats wrong with this team. The O-line? QB good, RBs good (though the coach has shown repeatedly he doesn't know when to use good players), WRs good....gotta be the O line...10-6? Maybe...but if Atl is good and NO is good...10 will be hard to come by.
Washington - how does this team ever win a game? They got NOTHING! 3 wins if lucky.
Baltimore - finally found a qb they can use? 11 wins might be a stretch...wait they play Cinci and Cle twice...nevermind.
Philly - Another coin flip...11-5 or 5-11? No clue.
Jets - They suck, they will always suck. Favre was a nice sideshow, now how about putting a football team together? 4 wins
Bengals are better than 2-14 jeese they have a solid roster and now we Get carson palmer back not to mention there draft and did u no they had the 12th best D last year so we at least 8-8
