You know, I often wonder the same thing-- personally it sounds hideous to my ears-- but in the words of my friend:
"I've found a new appreciation for screamo music, it's not just pointless screaming-- it takes skill to be able to scream without damaging vocal cords. And the artist is letting out what the listener wishes he/she could."
Screamo, like all other music, is an expression. People can identify with the intensity of it.
I kind of understand what she's trying to say.

I live for screamo/metal it is an art just as any other music is. It takes a while for it to build on you though and not everyone can. But the concerts are amazing and the music usually sends a great message. I recommend listening to some a day to remember the are one of my favorite band try and give them a chance

Yeah, I can't bear it too. Maybe to let go of some of whatever feelings of rage and anger they feel? Well, it's better to scream along a screamo song than go bunch someone in the nose XD!

They like it, I guess. We all have our own tastes in music, although I'm not a fan of it either. But just because you don't like screamo doesn't mean other people shouldn't listen to it.
