Bike riding to lose weight?

I've started to ride my bike to work to help me lose weight, and I just want to make sure I'm doing enough to actually see results.

Mondays & Wednesdays I ride 5 miles and Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays I ride 2 miles a day. Also on Tuesdays & Thursdays I do some weight lifting and strength training (sit ups, push ups, squats etc). I've been eating more healthy and trying to eat 4-6 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones.

Am I doing enough? I know something is better than nothing, but I don't want to stay at the weight I'm at I want to burn enough calories to lose weight.

Right now I'm 5ft6 and I'm at 172lbs. I had a gym membership but had to cancel it to save money... In the past 2 months I lost 9lbs running on the elliptical for 30 mins a day 5 days a week and doing strength training 2 days a week so I just want to make sure that this is kind of the same equivalent...

You exercising is right on target. Cardio 5 days a week, and strenght training 2 days a week. Great!!!! If you want to speed up the fat lose, add a little more time to your cardio, but what you are currently doing sounds fine.
The key though, is going to be your diet! Shhot for low fat, moderate to low carbs and high protein!

You ride a total of 14 miles a week. That's like 800 calories a week burned... rough a pound every month. That's probably too slow to notice anything.

The other stuff will help a little but you just have to do aerobic exercise to really see results "now".

The eating healthy is the secret though. It's so much easier to lose weight with a proper diet and a little exercise, so ... I say with all that combined yes you'll lose weight, as long as you are eating a calorie deficit.
