Les Paul is dead =(................?

Guitar inventor and pioneer died of pneumonia. Even though I worked for Leo Fender when I was 21 I've always had respect for Les.

Theres a program that use to be on called Night Flight and they aired a documentary on him a long time and it showed you just how brilliant he was.

I believe it was either in the 50s or the 60s he came up with the Les Paulveriser which was a device that you played a riff, it saved the riff and played it back as you added another riff. The guy was a genius.

Anyone care to dedicate a song to this legend

it wasnt just the guitar tho, Rik.

The man invented multi-track recording as well. Most, if not all, of the recordings we have enjoyed for decades are a direct result of his work.

He was a genius and he will be sorely missed.

R.I.P. Les Paul

From interview with Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick:

GC: When you do go on the road do you take the guitars from your collection?

Rick: I have two original Gibson Explorers. I usually take one of those and I take a bunch of Les Pauls.

I like that he Always uses Les Pauls, so I would like to dedicate "Say Goodbye" by Cheap Trick......

RIP ,, how tragic. My grandmother died of pneumonia ,, but haha of course no one cares about that here.

He did so much for music. So much. Without him there would be no signature les Paul guitars that the guitar gods played on. It all started with him.
