Pinoy Power 2: Conclusion?
In the first fight, undefeated Anthony Peterson won by UD, in an o.k. match.
Second fight, "Mighty" Mark Jason Melligen, a Mayweather sparring partner, showed his power, winning by K.O. against veteran Ernesto Zepeda, in a one-sided match.
Third fight got very interesting. Bernabe Concepcion against Steven Luevano. I was quite surprised in Luevano's excellent defense against Concepcion. The fight wasn't as exciting as I anticipated, but it did have controversy. Near the end of the 7th round, Concepcion hit Luevano with a hard right hook, then the bell rings, BUT Concepcion throws a 2-punch combination to Luevano's face & jaw, knocking him out, but led to Concecion's disqualification. It was obvious that the right action was taken, and I was quite disappointed that it ended this way, as I saw that Concepcion was just starting to heat up the end of that round. Did Concepcion hear the bell? The referee said he did, but it was possible that the loud cheers of the pro-Concepcion crowd had something to do with it, idk.
I hope it was accident, Concepcion hurt him before the bell sounded, maybe he didn't hear it, and just tried to finish the job, idk. I had Luevano winning by 3 rounds, but we might never know what had happened if the fight were to continue. 2 judges saw the bout, Luevano winning by 2-3 rounds, and 1 judge saw Concepcion winning by 1 round. I hope a rematch this winter clears the controversy.
Now for the main event. The Nonito Donaire vs. Rafael Concepcion was more exciting than most of you thought huh? Concepcion with his barrages, and Donaire with his accurate punches. Concepcion hit Donaire with a few, but hard punches the whole match, but Donaire was able to counter back and avoid many of them.
Donaire ran quite as much as Mayweather, maybe even more. The match was very exciting. I thought at times that Donaire was careless with his defense, leaving himself open with Concepcion's jabs. But Donaire digged out a UD and put an end to an exciting Pinoy Power 2.
To the people who watched the event, whatcha think?
After Donaire slipped, he jumped up quickly which gave me a laugh, made the match more exciting. Especially Donaire's beautiful left uppercuts and straight rights. Very Exciting!
I didn't mean that Donaire run like a pu***y, he made the necessary adjustments to avoid Concepcion's lethal blows.
And my mistake, I actually scored the Concepcion-Luevano fight with Luevano only winning by one point. And 2 judges had Luevano winning by 1 & 2 rounds, not 2-3.
