Pinoy Power 2: Conclusion?
In the first fight, undefeated Anthony Peterson won by UD, in an o.k. match.
Second fight, "Mighty" Mark Jason Melligen, a Mayweather sparring partner, showed his power, winning by K.O. against veteran Ernesto Zepeda, in a one-sided match.
Third fight got very interesting. Bernabe Concepcion against Steven Luevano. I was quite surprised in Luevano's excellent defense against Concepcion. The fight wasn't as exciting as I anticipated, but it did have controversy. Near the end of the 7th round, Concepcion hit Luevano with a hard right hook, then the bell rings, BUT Concepcion throws a 2-punch combination to Luevano's face & jaw, knocking him out, but led to Concecion's disqualification. It was obvious that the right action was taken, and I was quite disappointed that it ended this way, as I saw that Concepcion was just starting to heat up the end of that round. Did Concepcion hear the bell? The referee said he did, but it was possible that the loud cheers of the pro-Concepcion crowd had something to do with it, idk.
I hope it was accident, Concepcion hurt him before the bell sounded, maybe he didn't hear it, and just tried to finish the job, idk. I had Luevano winning by 3 rounds, but we might never know what had happened if the fight were to continue. 2 judges saw the bout, Luevano winning by 2-3 rounds, and 1 judge saw Concepcion winning by 1 round. I hope a rematch this winter clears the controversy.
Now for the main event. The Nonito Donaire vs. Rafael Concepcion was more exciting than most of you thought huh? Concepcion with his barrages, and Donaire with his accurate punches. Concepcion hit Donaire with a few, but hard punches the whole match, but Donaire was able to counter back and avoid many of them.
Donaire ran quite as much as Mayweather, maybe even more. The match was very exciting. I thought at times that Donaire was careless with his defense, leaving himself open with Concepcion's jabs. But Donaire digged out a UD and put an end to an exciting Pinoy Power 2.
To the people who watched the event, whatcha think?
After Donaire slipped, he jumped up quickly which gave me a laugh, made the match more exciting. Especially Donaire's beautiful left uppercuts and straight rights. Very Exciting!
I didn't mean that Donaire run like a pu***y, he made the necessary adjustments to avoid Concepcion's lethal blows.
And my mistake, I actually scored the Concepcion-Luevano fight with Luevano only winning by one point. And 2 judges had Luevano winning by 1 & 2 rounds, not 2-3.

The one that caught my attention really was the Luevano/Concepcion fight....
No it was not a cheap shot nor it was "intentional"....it was def a "late combo" though...but it was not intentional....Concepcion isn't that type of fighter....I think he was just too caught up with the moment that he forgot about everything else...it was a 1-2 punch....I think he was just looking for the knock out punch because he rocked him secs before the bell rang....I kept replaying the video because I was shocked too....I think Concepcion was just really anxious and he quickly unloaded the moment he saw an opening (moment Luevano dropped his hands)....it was his reflex...the 1-2 came simultaneously with the bell.....very controversial fight....everything happened at the wrong moment....but a right decision by the ref...we have to see a rematch....
it would also affect Concepcion's reputation....in a bad way....it's not his night.....
I'm Fili but I'm somewhat disappointed with this event....

I gotta give Donaire Hands up. He chose to fight Conception eventhough Conception was 4.5 pounds over the 115 limit and furthermore Donaire was fighting with a minor case of asthma. Donaire showed excellent boxing skills but Conception showed a lot of heart. He just wouldnt go down, kept going forward and was even able to knock down Donaire in the last round but overall Donaire was just to quick and too accurate of a puncher. It was a fight, I mean a real fight. Both fighters boxed very well and gave their hearts out. Donaire FTW.
Now as for Steven Luevano vs Bernabe Conception, Im disappointed with Luevano. He's shown less aggression in this fight. Although he won by disqualification of Conception, Im not satisfied with both performances. It was like neither of them wanted to hit and get hit. Both were fighting scared. For Conception, he even got the nerve to complain after hitting Luevano 2 seconds after the bell rang, what an a-s-s. He deserved to lose. He was throwing less than 3 punches for every 45 seconds. He was just dancing, should have just joined the Filipino cultural dance team. It was a very boring fight, sorry to say. Pathetic fighter Conception is. As for Luevano, because Im a fan of his, I hope he will do better next time.

how could it be exciting if Donaire was running like u said he was? well i saw the fight. delayed telecast and i wasnt impress. i thought Donaire could have done better. i was expecting two fighter really going at it but only Concepcion was the one trying to fight and the other one trying to sneak some punches. he was supposed to be Flash but i didnt see any of his speed. all i see was how he run around trying to stay away from Concepcion
i knew the punches after the bell was unintentional but the decision was right to disqualify Abe Concepcion because Luevano couldnt fight no more.
i only saw those 2 fights

I didn't think Rafael Conception would survive the fight I never thought it would end up a decision but Nonito got the most hits and cutted Rafael eyes very bad.The 2nd fight with Mark Melligen was sick!!! hell of knockout.Bernabe was dominating Luvano all day but he didn't hear the bell it's kind of the referees fault for not breaking them apart it would of been a good ending,Bernabe being the new champion but I can't wait for the rematch this December atleast we saw a knockout.Undefeated Anthony Peterson had very good defense and good 1 2 hooks most he's shots connected.

Damn that referee..He knew that the bell is going to ring yet he went on the rear side of Concepcion..If the bell rings How can he stop the two fighters on punching each other if he's on the rear side of one of the boxers?.He should had went into the right or left side so that he can stop the fight if the bell rings
Source(s): Go to youtube.type the keyword .Luevano vs Concepcion illegal Punch..and watch where's the referee when the Bell rings..."When the Bell rings..not when concepcion hits Luevano"(coz that time, the ref is already hugging concepcion ) - Val Cyril ELv 41 decade ago
Yeah, Melligen will have a bright future in boxing. About Donaire, I was really disappointed. Donaire is too technical, he ran and ran, boxing experts will disagree with me but I really hate technical boxers. I love to see brawling.

I agree with Val Cyril, Donaire was too technical, he was fighting like he was Floyd Mayweather. I thought he is a Pac jr, he seems to me more like Mayweather Jr. Jr. who likes to run a lot!
