How do you keep your child's carseat from getting so hot?
When you're parking your car in direct sunlight (like in my driveway!), how do you keep the plastic and metal pieces on your child's carseat from getting so hot? Is throwing a blanket or towel over it enough, or is there another trick I haven't thought of yet?

i use a big and thick beach towel over my kid's car seat it works perfectly to keep there seats cool.
I always covered it with a beach towel. That way I had a towel in the car for accidents, as a blanket, etc. I also always had a small plastic trash can (bathroom size). In case someone got sick or had something drippy to get rid of.
If it can't easily be taken in and out of the car (my toddler seat comes out easily but the baby rear facing seat doesn't) then try covering it with something reflective (silver, or foil works) or something white which reflects the heat. The other thing to try is hooking up a sail over the car to give some shade. Good luck.

We had out windows tinted and that helped a LOT. Ours are tinted pretty dark though. I also like that because I don't have to worry about putting those stupid sun shade things over the windows so he won't get sun burned or get sun in his eyes. The sun shade things never work right in our cars!
