Who is a character in a romance that you would not consider a "Mary Sue"?
Be specific in the reasons why you think she is not.
Thanks

Well, what romance?
Tally, in the Uglies books, isn't - she's involved in a couple of romances though they are not the main plots of the books. Why not? Because what she does, knows and is good at fits her character, she isn't perfect at everything, and she makes plausible mistakes which have very serious consequences.
The Android
Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
She is not a Mary Sue because she is good at hunting and archery, hot-tempered, loves her family, and knows a lot about medicine. In the book she has to take care of her love interest. She's not the one being cared for- he is! She is a strong woman who does not need the help of a man to do anything. She makes mistakes and learns from them, and she thinks things out.
