Should Antonio Margarito be allowed to box professionally again?

Its been about six months since Antonio Margarito w as given his one year ban from boxing. Margarito apparently had what is known as "loaded gloves". Although we have no proof, Its hard to believe that this would have been the first or only time Margarito has done this. One would ask,Why Margarito would try to cheat versus a Past his prime fighter like Mosley and not up and comers or stars such as Cotto or Cintron, or Williams. In this past month, I saw two things sports related that interested me, one of which was "Assault In The Ring" and The reinstatement of Michael Vick. Two completely different stories, One shows you that Athetes are givin second chances and the other shows that A mistake can cost us our career and ruin the rest of our life. So my question is, should Margarito be allowed to box professionally ever again?

He should have been banned for life.
He and his camp knew exactly what they were doing.
This is not the first time they cheated, it was just the first time they were caught.
When you show compassion to the criminal you are denying justice to the victim.

We can all say what we want to about Antonio Margarito, but what we cannot say is that if he tried to load his hands against Shane Mosley, he must have done the same thing against previous opponents. There is no proof of that, and it’s not fair to consider prior bad acts that are based on pure conjecture rather than evidence. That would be like a cop arresting someone for DUI and charging him with several counts because “He must have done it before.”

At every sanctioned fight, a member of the athletic commission must observe the hand wrapping and a member of the opponent’s party is allowed to watch. The commissioner missed this one and Mosley’s trainer caught it.

Fighters are used to fighting and feeling an opponent’s gloves hitting them in the face. I think they would know that an opponent’s gloves are too hard. If I was Margarito’s trainer, I would have loaded Margo’s hands in his fight against Cotto before I would have loaded them against Mosley. But there’s no proof that that happened.

Those who think Margo and his trainer should be banned for two years or even life should contact the California Athletic Commission and say so. Margo can still fight in Mexico and elsewhere, so his banishment would not be a total career killer. Had he used those gloves against Mosley, that could have been a Mosley killer?

I was a big Margo fan and have long been a big Mosley fan. I also like Cotto, Cintron and Clottey.

If nothing else, a lifetime ban on Margo and his trainer would send a clear and strong message to the boxing world. And it might also send a message to the Athletic Commissions to tell their observers to feel and examine gloves before saying “A-Okay.”

I don't believe the amount of people saying yes. If any of u saw Assault in the Ring you would have seen what a Margacheato like move cost a family. Billy Collins Jr is dead. He died at 23 broke and miserable because if loaded gloves. A good person dead at 23 and I'm supposed to feel sorry for Resto because it messed up his life? At least he has a life to mess up. That's more than I can say for Billy Collins and his widow. That's more than I can say for his parents who 20 years later are still hurting. He was not a kid making a small mistake. He was 28 years old, a grown adult and knew what he was doing. Would you feel sympathy for a rapist or murderer because a jail term messed up their life? I hope not. Because Icertainly don't feel sorry for this one. Margarito should be punished even more because he knew what he was doing and because he was old enough to see the resto controversy and how it killed someone but still did it. He didn't care for Cotto's life why should I care for his bank account. What so he deserves a chance for being a human being? Billy Collins Jr is also a human being. Or at least he was. He and his corner should get a career ban and Cotto should sue him for assault and costing him a few years off his career. I believe him when he says he didn't know that they were loaded as much as I believe Mosley when he says he flew from L.A. to New York to receive four syringes of what he thought were "vitamins". If any knows where dipping your hands in plaster and mixing it with water and letting it dry for ten minutes and the putting it on your hands is normal behavior or where I can buy vitamins that come in hypodermic needle form please let me know.

I think every one deserves a second chance...

but i think Margarito should've been charged for conspiracy and attempt to tamper with a sport contest

but this case is different though, if margarito had loaded gloves against Miguel Cotto then its Miguel Cotto's camp fault that he lost because they didn't check Margarito's hand wraps as trainers do traditionally in this sport...

but to answer your question officially i think he should be able to redeem himself so yes... if you saw assault in the ring then you know that banning him for life can ruin Margarito's life and everyone around him such as Luis Resto. yea this is a heinous crime but later on when Margarito comes up in the news 15 years from now you would have sympathy for the man and his family because banning him would ruin his life

I like Margarito, I believes he deserves a second chance, why? Cause he's an effin human being and it's not like he's done something as bad Don King has done. For all we know he only had the "loaded gloves" for the Mosley fight, as far as I'm concerned he's paid his dues, now it's time to let things be and allow him back in the world of boxing.
