I bough some wood plugs a few days ago and put them in yesterday. ever since then my holes have been excessively crusty, a little swollen, and one lobe side appears to be a little scabby.
its not like I was using these to stretch with. my ears are where I want them to be.
allergic reaction?

well, there are actually a few things that could cause this, wood of course can splinter, and your body will naturally try everything it can to expel it. Also, yes, anyone can be allergic to anything. If it continues and you are seriously concerned about it, you may need a doctor to prescribe some antibiotics to help kill whatever bacteria has gotten in. Also remember, this is the body's reaction to anything foreign that it is aware of, and if it is something serious, it will not stay with just the symptoms you described, it will start trying more and more methods to get rid of it, and you'll generally feel like you've got some sort of cold or flu. Keep that in mind over the next few days/weeks because if you do start to feel achy or sick in any way, it's very likely they are connected. Good luck.

I recently moved to wood plug and the same thing happened.
I'm not sure if you'd be allergic to them, but I would try to ride it out unless it gets worse.
Mine took about a week and a half to get back to normal. Is it possible that there was a bit of irritation before you changed your jewelry and swapping augmented it? Sea salt works wonders, but I'm sure you know that. :D

You left out a key piece of information, how long have you had your ears stretched to your current size? Don't tell me you used silicone to stretch bad idea my friend. It is possible to get a reaction out of no where, I'm the same way with certain types of glass that I used to be fine with. It may also be the quality of the jewelry (I have also had this issue). Just take the jewelry out that's all I can tell you.
