What would you do if you owned the cage?

A man and a woman rented a cage on your property. The man works and takes care of his family remarkably. The man suddenly dies outside the cage. The woman refuses to leave and attacks everyone who tries to enter. She has 3 children ages 2, 4 and 7. The state says you must provide for the children if you do not you will be locked up. They will not remove the woman. If you leave the cage open the children will probably wander out. You would still be responsible for them but if all of them come out you are not responsible for the grown woman. Once she dies the state will take the kids. How would you handle it.

deja, For how long would you care for the woman and children, You have just lost income no rent being paid. What if one of the children die do to improper care. How will the children adjust to society when they have to leave.

to all, I am trying to generate deep thought. You can of couse take care of the family at your expense but the children would be school by a slightly skewed adult and would probably not function well as adults, Also kids being kids one may die and you will be locked up.

It would make for great tv. That should get you money to take care of the family.

Maybe people would take your side and force the state to help.

Actually I end up in this situation or some version of it often. Owning rental properties you often end up with people who have no way to support their families. They loose hope and have no rational way to fix the situation that they are in.

I try to talk to them and see if there is some way that I can help. I have kept people who were in desperate straits through no fault of their own for several months.

Even helping with transportation and thing like prescription costs. Some see this as financially irresponsible on my part but I see it as the only logical response to the needs of my fellow humans.

Love and blessings Don

...care for the woman and children...

edit: ...truly it was my property, thus my responsibility to ensure a paying client for my rental, the man dies, the woman refuses to leave and the children are to young to work...

...i would speak with the widow on what Life insurance plan and health benefits payments are due her because of his sudden death, use my lawyer to set up a payment plan for her and the children to ensure their welfare and quality of life, also to prevent future heartaches and concerns, the widow will designate me as legal guardian should she die suddenly for the three children's welfare and education...

...though like your question - hypothetical, (should it happen in reality) - i'll have a plan of action...

...thanks for asking...
