Serious question. Should I reject what made me believe the Bible and become a Jehovah's Witness?
I read the Bible on my own. I was surprised that it offered prophecy as proof. So I thought I could falsify it by showing the prophecies to be untrue.
But it turned out that they are all true. And the ones that convinced me are the modern ones that are unquestionably manifested in our time. Things you can go visit and touch.
Examples
Ezekiel gave the exact date of the rebirth of Israel on the day of Pentecost / Seven Sevens in 1948.

It happened immediately after Ezekiel 37s "Valley of dry bones" which turned out to be the Holocaust. Literal bones literal rebirth.
The 1260 day disgusting thing turned out to be the Dome of the Rock, in the literal Holy Place which is the same Holy Place where Abraham went to sacrifice Isaac, and where Solomon built a temple, and has never been changed. It was set up in the Court of the Gentiles 688 and Israel returned in 1948. Count them. 1260.

Now Israel is the prophesied stumbling block, Jerusalem a cup of trembling. Just turn on the news and see.
The nations surrounding Israel are prophesied to be saying "Death to Israel". Coincidentally, that is what they are saying.
These proofs go on and on.
To be a Jehovah's Witness, I'd have to ignore all this (meaning Ezekiel failed as a prophet and is false) and believe in an invisible coming in 1914, based off of pyramid measurements and a historically unconfirmable date of 607 BC.
I'd have to believe in "spiritual Israel", and think that prophecies such as Tabernacles applies to me and not Jesus.
I'd have to believe that the Watchtower is not a prophet, even though they have claimed to be (April 1 1972), and their prophecies are not failures but only misconstrued suggestions from overzealous members.
I'd have to accept that the Watchtower is God's communication channel, but sometimes gives fallible and incorrect communications which need new light later to clear it up. But I still have to go to them for salvation and spiritual food at the right time.
etc...
Do you see what I'm saying?
If I'm truly honest hearted, is becoming a Jehovah's Witness a viable option for me?

thanks. no not looking for a method. just truth

either the prophecies speak to you or they don't. once i could see them and understand, you can google it for an actual historical event. then you go to the next in the sequence and confirm that too.
turns out that what i read is what many others have deciphered too.
and as i can't post several years research in a ya q, links will suffice.
yep i realise that pyramids are now stale food. yet that's how the 1914 date (still fresh) came about.
ad hominem aside, i've been studying with witnesses for nearly 2 years., from the kh in napier new zealand. you might want to check with them before you accuse me of lying. ask i will send you their names. one is an elder. and i have had some kind of overseer come for several studies too.

if you have a better interpretation of ezekiel please let me hear it.
yep the fig tree is cursed to never again bear fruit. but when it is in leaf, all these things will be fulfilled. this describes israel today. or do you say that you are the tree not bearing fruit?
do you think your invisible presence can trump a physical nation we see every day in the news?

done this q. watchtower says jehovah is only saviour to israel, jesus is only saviour to christians. 2 different saviours for 2 different times.
i'd say only one saviour, god is that one saviour, god in the flesh is still that one saviour. to me it harmonises better.

yes i've been over the 607 argument. here's a simpler one.
zec 1:7, 12. when does history and the watchtower (paradise restored) say this occurred? 519. google it and it's when nebu started the seige. this makes 70 years begin in 589.
jeremiah too works out to 536/7. shall i post another link to explain all this? or shall we just say that i hold to the bible testimony and can reconcile it with history, unlike the lone jws who say 607.
again, i don't believe ezekiel to be false. so i hold to an interpretation which makes him true, and you do not.
myro
your johnny come lately is the other doctrine. if not, show me it historically going back to the apostles and jesus. but i know you cannot. done that q.

prove all things, hold fast to that which is true.

such as? really haven't heard any from the watchtower that were true. abraham never resurrected and lived at beth sarim.
thanks ed. good idea. but i don't make up my own reasons when the bible tells me these things already.
2 corinth 13:5. is jesus in you?
(and, as you must say when dealing with jws, there is no "union" in that sentence, nor any reason in the greek to insert it there. i've got your interlinear)
