Can libertarianism co-mingle with liberal ideologies?
Specifically, many gays follow a liberal agenda, but I know many of my gay friends who follow a libertarian line of thought in that government has no business controlling their personal lives. What do you think?

I don't think it's the gay issue that is in conflict with the libertarianism ideology. I do however see the Marxist policies of liberals to be in direct conflict though. I know gay republicans.
Well, no, it is not possible. The Government does not control gay people's lives anymore than anyone else. There is an important concept we need to understand. Libertarianism supports the Constitution. Liberalism does not. Libertarians believe that the Constitution is the law of the land. You either adhere to it as written or you amend it. Liberals believe it is a "living document" or that it is not the law of the land only a loose guideline that should not be allowed to interfere with whatever is currently popular.
So, if two people of the same gender wish to get married, they cannot. Marriage is defined as between people of different genders. It does not matter what their sexual orientation is. Two heterosexual people of the same sex cannot get married either. Marriage has a definition and a purpose. No one has to get married. If you do wish to get married you must adhere to the definition.
Jesus said that you cannot get fresh water out of a poluted well.If you mix the two, you will reap the mixture. That is like mixing healthy cells with cancerous cells. The cancr will drain the life out of the healthy cells. Just as socialism drains the financial life from a free economy.
As far as some amount of tolerance yes, but as far as government spending and entitlement programs no. Liberals don't understand that with programs like welfare and some need it to get started after bad circumstances, that with these programs comes the Government telling you how to live your life.
