would you treat the 1 red ring xbox 360 as the same as the 3rrod? or what can you do to fix it?

Yep its exactly the same fix. When the ring is showing, you can hold down the sync button and press the eject button, you press it 4 times, each time you press it the lights flash a sequence, where all 4 rings = 0, and 1 ring = 1 and two = 2 etc..

You can check google to see exactly what error you have.. its probably 0102 which just means unknown error.
