The Weakest Link BBC1?

Do you think the BBC deliberately selects contestants who are ignorant and stupid, so they don't have to give away much prize money?

No they just pick people who will make the show interesting and people with specific features so anne can take the mick out of them. The prize money is irrelivent is the viewing figures which they really care about so they pick "interesting" contestants.

I know right, sometimes the contestants can be so stupid. But then again I'm sure I get questions wrong now and then that other people might consider obvious. I don't think the BBC screen them like this on purpose, it's our (the license payers) money they're giving away anyway, so they don't care about it.

Anyway, I think more intelligent people, if they really had the urge to go on a TV quiz show would opt for something other than The Weakest Link

No not really, I consider myself to be fairly well educated. But I could tell you that the majority of people in an average pub, would fare just as well as the contestants that you see on the weakest link. The majority of people are just not knowledgeable. I'd say 75 percent of our population. That still leaves 25 percent who are quite clued up and knowledgeable.

They have to pick a couple of contestants that are not as bright as they should be so that Ann Robinson can take the micky or insult them, it is part of the show.

OMG is that show still going? We haven't had it in Australia for at least 6 years now...

Reality television usually only works because all contestants are screened for dumbness..
