When are performances live at The Met New York?

BBC Radio 3 here in the UK run a regular series each year early on Saturday evenings called 'Live from the Met'. For example, last Saturday (12 December) they broadcast Puccini's Il Tabarro starting here in the UK at 5.30pm. Now, if the performance is really 'live' that would give a starting time of around 12.30 in the afternoon, New York time. So, the question, does The Met have performances on a Saturday afternoon, or is the description 'live' something of a misnomer?

The Met has regular 1pm Saturday matinées, so the Radio 3 performances ARE live.

Since I live in Illinois and the performance is broadcast live on my local station KFUO 99.1 St. Louis and it's at high noon my time, that means it's on at 1 or 2 PM in New York.

If you want more information, you could go to the link I provide for KFUO's own website or to their pge for their Met performances.

I also listen to it on the radio in Lima, Peru on Saturdays, past noon, live.
Also, we can go to the theater where they have a regular giant screen, you don't miss any detail....
