Should I drop off or mail my resume to a firm that is NOT advertising any jobs?

I have relocated to Spokane, WA. I found the perfect law firm that I would like to work for. However, they are not currently advertising any positions. I have specialized experience that is relevant to them, so I am going to send a cover letter and resume. Should I drop it off or mail it in? Thanks,

If you just walk in, you might get blown off. My last receptionist used to do this all the time for me (I actually considered it a favor since we worked near a parole office and got a TON of walk-ins looking for jobs...and my office was only 2 doors down the hall from the front door.) I would see if you can make an appt with the HR manager/director. In many cases, especially with professional firms such as law firms and consultants, they are always looking for the right person to walk through the door but they may not advertise positions because they don't want a ton of resumes - they want the right person to seek them out. So I would call them and see if you can speak to the HR manager (check out their website to see if it mentions a particular person.) If you can't make an appointment to drop by, at least you will have a name to direct your resume to when you mail it.

completely untrue. Many little ones walk around department stores dropping off resumes with the 1st worker they see. i ask your self how lots of those resumes are even appeared at. in case you opt for for to get employed, do no longer so what absolutely everyone else is doing. circulate to the placement dressed properly for an interview. Ask to communicate to the govt. while the govt comes out, say you're able to decide for to communicate for a couple of minutes with him/her approximately working there. you may get an interview. If the govt says there is not any time, provide your resume to the govt with a brilliant smile. That way you would be remembered.

Yes I think you should. Also try and be remembered in some way, perhaps meet HR and shake their hand.

A lot of people if they can afford it; offer to work six months or three months for free. it builds up your resume and also gives you experience and could land you up with a referral to another law firm.

Drop it off. Talk to the receptionist and get a feel for the firm. Every little thing helps.
