Why are Texas fans whining about the loss to Alabama and making excuses?

I'd say the game went just as planned by Bama - smash them in the mouth, beat them up in the trenches, run it right down their throats, hit their skinny little "speedsters" hard and make them pay for every gain, wait for the injuries to take a toll, and pull it out in the 4th quarter. That isn't luck. It exactly how Bama has won 8 championships in my lifetime..They specialize in it. It's not a game. It's more of war - with serious injuries to be expected. They specialize in it. It isn't pretty, but it works great - just ask Texas! We Bama fans expect an "ugly" game and wouldn't have it any other way. We say if your players can't take the heat, keep 'em out of Bama's kitchen.

I believe McCoy would have made a difference - if he could have survived Bama's defensive onslaught which is designed to beat quarterbacks up and send them to the locker room early and in pain. Bama played by their rules and won. That's all. Stop complaining. I guess ol' McCoy just THOUGHT he had been hit before.Dareus laid him out for real.

Oh, I see we have a Volunqueer fan in the house. How irritating.

Yes hawk m, that is the point exactly - just take them out with physical football and good clean hard hits - just like the one that sent McCoy packing. Bama football just like it has always been. If your QB can't take it, he doesn't belong on the field with Bama..

I hated to see any great player go down, but it happens to those who play Bama and their teams get beaten. It shouldn't have been a great shock to anyone. That's all I'm saying.

Well, jay, I hate the type of fan who's team can't win the big ones and then run around trying to lessen the victor's spoils by making darned excuses. The fact is, Bama let up and played prevent football till the freshman started to make a few plays, the let loose on them again and turned it around at will. Still there are Texas fans that say Texas is the better team - BS. Bama would have never let up with him in the game and would have won by much more.

I'm a Texas fan and not making excuses. I am actually not shocked Bama took over after McCoy went down. But seriously, any team that loses their best player and leader is most likely not going to win. I don't think that is an excuse. I would rather say that there are a lot of disappointed fans all over America today. If you are a Bama fan you should be more concerned with the fact that some Bama players celebrated the fact that they took out McCoy "to help them win". Yes, it was said by more than one player. That's really pathetic and no one should celebrate one of the greatest QB's to play college football getting hurt in the biggest game of the year.

The Horns gave the fans a great run this year and Mack Brown has given all of us a legacy of winning and competing every year for a BCS game. All fans should enjoy that. This game would have been hell of a lot closer with McCoy in the game.

I like how everyone believes that only in the SEC do they play contact football. Injuries are part of any sport, but when your star player gets hurt within the first 5 minutes of a big game and cannot return, it doesn't matter who the team is, they are going to be complaints. If Ingram was hurt within the first 5 minutes and couldn't return, and thus may have cost Alabama the game, Bama fans would be complaining too.

In a few years nobody will remember Mccoy was out of the game. They will just say Bama was National Champs in 2009.

Last year in the Sugar Bowl we had players missing. We had 2 all-American linemen missing. We lost we got over it. I had tons of respect for the longhorns and their fans before the game. Now I know that the only thing that comes from Texas are steers and sissies. What a bunch of crybaby losers. Roll Tide.
