Did you like The Book of Eli?

I saw the movie this weekend and I'm not sure what to make of it.

It's not the best movie I've seen...but not the worst. I think I understand it for the most part. The blindness, his memorizing and all that jazz, but it left a lot of loose ends. Like what happened to that evil guy at the end? What was Solara doing? (yes, she said she was going home, but why?)
What did I miss???
Thanks!

I'd have to say I agree with you. I had incredibly low hopes as it was, and my low hopes still weren't met when Book of Eli ended. It just seemed like a rehash of a dozen other films, Road Warrior, The Road, Boy and His Dog, all with a twist of Zatoichi. It just went nowhere, and seemed awfully anti-climatic. And with Gary Oldman's character, the town was beginning to riot and erupt into chaos, and since he didn't have a legible bible to sway the people, then he's pretty much done. And Solara is going on the road like Denzel's character, presumably to spread the word of the Bible or protect it.

Evil guy at the end - The blind woman felt his forehead was hot, indicating he had a fever, indicating that the wound in his leg was infected, indicating (since there was no penicillin) that he was going to die soon.
Solara - Going back home to spread the word about the Bible and/or about Eli. I believe this was really done to leave room for a sequel.
