does ellena sound cheap? (e-leen-ah)?

my mothers middle name was ellen, she passed away 2 years ago from breast cancer. mom hated her middle name, but before she died, we talked about some things that i knew i would want her opinion on later down the road. i asked her about my future babys names. if i had a girl and if i were to put an a on the end of ellen and call her ellena, did she like that? she loved it. so i was sold on the name. i mentioned the name to my boyfriend and he laughed and said oh god that sounds like a hoe name. when i explained to him the meaning to me, he felt terrible and said he was really sorry. it got me thinking though, DOES it sound cheap to someone who doesn't know the reason behind it?

I think that is very precious and it sounds like a sweet girls name it does not sound cheap. I think a name like candy sounds cheap lol i have yet to meet a cheap candy though.
But no i do not think ellena sounds cheap to someone who doesnt know the meaning it sounds very classy in my opinion

I don't think it sounds cheap at all! I think this is a wonderful name, and it has a wonderful meaning behind it. I think your daughter would be honored to have that name. I love it pronounced eh-LAY-nah, too.

Don't be too hard on your boyfriend. I've come to the conclusion that guys don't have a clue about names in most cases (sorry to those guys that do). My husband has picked out some AWFUL names. :-)

Ellena is a beautiful name and the origin is so thoughful and sweet. Phonetically, I'd spell it Elina, as it rhymes with of of my favourite names, Melina. I'd pronounce Ellena like Elle-enn-ah (rhymes with Helena).

It definitely is not cheap and hoe-ish, it is beautiful and elegant and sophisticated.

I dont get how it sounds cheap at all.
It is a very pretty and elegant name.
I love it.
And the meaning behind it is beautiful and just makes it that much more special.
