How many days and miles you guys run per week?
I want to see how long you guys run. I just want to get fit and try to schedule it around my class time. Also, how can I not be self-conscious when running alone and in the street?

I run 6 miles a day 6 days a week during the winter- probably slightly more during the summer. But I think your best bet is to just start running at a comfortable pace and see where that takes you. As you become a more experienced runner, you'll be able to run longer distances faster. It's hard to compare one runner to another because there are so many variables ( weight, age, fitness level, running surface). Set a goal for yourself and, once you meet that one, set another. You'll be impressed by how quickly you excel and how much better you feel.
As far as being self conscious: Try to find a place where there are lots of people running. Seeing other runners will help you feel less like you are the only person around to be noticed. Remember that every runner feels that way at some time or another and in reality, no one is probably noticing those things you worry about. Listening to music or focusing on something else will also help you not feel so self conscious, too.
Good luck!

During off season when I'm just competing in a some indoor meets only 20-30 miles a week. During track and cross country season 40-55 miles a week. It's all in good fun and monitored by my coach.
When running alone on the streets it may be difficult to get used too. I always feel self conscious when I see runners running past me when I'm not running because it makes me feel lazy. Just think to yourself...Hmm! I'm getting out and actually running/exercising, should I be the one embarrassed? Also, don't really pay attention to what others say/think about you when you are running. It really doesn't matter. Don't ever reply to rude comments or flip off a car that cuts you off. It's always good to smile and be generous to everyone, even haters.

I run approximately 5 miles a day 6 days a week, and a muscle training day on Sunday.
And I usually try to run on secluded roads with less cars and more homes.
But if you live in a city, that's nearly impossible. So just forget everyone. You're running while they're eating that calorie packed donut and coffee. Don't feel shy, feel proud.
Run with your iPod on. Play out a story in your head with the things you see while you're running.
