Is it safe to stop worrying as much now?

hey im 12 weeks and 5 day pregnant iv had 2 scan. One at 8 weeks and another 3 days ago.. both times the baby was completely fine (thank god) right size, string heartbeat etc. So am i really over the worse? But over the last 2 weeks iv been having spotting sometimes after sex, its only a tiny amount on the toilet paper, only about the size of a pin prick, but still there. But the night before scan i had some more spotting for no reason... so in total iv spotted about 3-4 times but had the scan and everything was ok and the midwife didn't really seem worried. What could this be? Also iv got a really nasty cold! Iv had it for about 2 weeks i cant stop coughing? does violent coughing hurt the baby? And did you get ill easier when you were pregnant? thank youbxxx

Well, you will never stop worrying :) There will always be new thing to worry about. Once the baby is born perfectly healthy you will stand over the crib making sure you can see them breathing and if you aren't sure, your heart will jump and you will give them a poke to make sure they move..lol. Worrying is part of parenthood I'm afraid.

But what you are describing sounds normal. The spotting after sex is bc your cervix is much more sensitive due to the extra blood flow to it. This can happen for a couple of days after sex. Coughing doesn't hurt the baby, it is well protected in there. Have you spoke to your Dr about your cold? You can safely take cough medicine. There is no reason to suffer. And yes pregnant women are more susceptible to illness, which is why they push flu shots etc. while you are pregnant. Make sure you take your vitamins, and wash your hands often. Practice good hygiene.

Spotting after sex is perfectly normal during pregnancy. There is so much extra blood flow down there its much easier to bump a vessel and have it leak a little blood. A little bit of spotting is normal during pregnancy. But if its accompanied by cramping or if the spotting gets heavier then you'd want to worry. If the scan showed everything looked ok and the midwife wasn't concerned then try to relax a little. Only you suffer from the coughing. your baby is basically unaware this early. During pregnancy your imune system is compromised because your body is working so hard for the baby.

At 12 weeks your over the panic time. It really never gets perfectly safe until the baby is big enough to be outside the womb, but at least your chance of miscarraige has dramatically dropped.

Good Luck and Congrats!

Being pregnant, you are like a small child or an elderly person and you have a compromised immune system, so you will get sick easier. Bleeding after you have sex is perfectly normal. And being that you are still fairly early in the pregnancy a light amount of bleeding (nothing heavy) is normal. I would believe yours ultrasounds and your midwife.

The greatest one within the final 2 years on April one million has been the stream of the Information approximately a "Dooms Day Virus". Sort of just like the Y2k factor each person jogging round frantically looking to get a speedy repair. Sure made the ones problem and adrenaline junkies glad. What is the Spiritually in an April fools comic story?
