Propagator Problems . . .?

I'm using a heated propagator for the first time this year and, although the seedlings came up fine (I'm growing chillis, sweet peppers and tomatoes in it), after about 10 days a lot of the seelings just fell over.

I've got the propagator situated in an unheated conservatory out of direct sunlight.

I did everything the instructions told me to do - taking the lid off during the day and putting it back on at night because it's still very frosty at the moment.

Is this a common problem with heated propagators or did I do something wrong?

I've now planted some backup seeds which I'm growing, as I always used to do, on the kitchen window sill - just in case I lose all the seedlings in the propagotor.

My guess and past experience is.......if you're using heat - you only need heat. The lid is prolly what is suffocating them and causing them to dampen off. They need a fan of some sort at low speed or some light air circulation (ceiling fan) to help keep them stalks strong.
Once my seedlings start, they are not covered again. I mad the mistake once of having a mini greenhouse with a lamp in it and the door closed.......they all molded and died and that was only 2 days.
My advice, no cover.....and once the heat assisted in germination, you shouldn't need the heat anymore....if they're inside a house....what kind of conservatory are you using? Do they get enough light?

If Ali (RA) believed that the Muslims have been going off course via taking Abu Bakr (RA) because of the fact the 1st Caliph while he substitute into the single rightly guided, then he might have spoken out against the Caliphate of Abu Bakr (RA). extremely, he gave allegiance to Abu Bakr (RA), and thereafter gave allegiance to Umar (RA) and Uthman (RA). even while the human beings stated that he might desire to be the 4th Caliph, he declined initially. If he knew that he substitute into the rightly guided individual who's to handbook the Ummah upon the excellent direction, then why did he refuse to settle for the Caliphate, while it substitute into the suited hazard to place the Ummah back on the excellent direction, if certainly they went off course?

"seedlings just fell over." became leggy reaching for light...heat is for germination, not for growing.
