There is no such thing as a secure installation of Windows. And antivirus programs don't find many viruses, even when their databases are current. If you want a secure computer, install Linux. There are free versions on the Internet. Or buy a Mac.

Windows was engineered (purposefully, I think) to keep pretty much every single port open to security threats by default. I believe this is so Microsoft could use these loopholes for their own deviant purposes but when hackers exploit them, they HAVE to release a patch for it, to maintain what little credibility they seem to have.
