Is Windows XP secure?
I have Windows XP Professional 32 bit with Service Pack 3. I have updated my computer and I run Avira Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Center.
I don't download software all the time, and when I do I am able to tell the difference between malware and actual legitimate software. If I have doubts I look it up and when I torrent something I always torrent the most seeded and leached torrent there is. I run scans every now and then.
But after reading some reviews and articles they are saying that Windows XP users have had the most attacks. See I doubt this, because it was in 2010 and there were more XP users, so of course there would be more reported case. I just want someones insight.

All virus programmers want the most bang for the buck.
Since XP keeps getting lesser and lesser used, the viruses focus on versions that are most used, and of the most inexperienced users.
This means XP's getting somewhat saver and safer. (saver and safer -both spelled correct!?)
I use an extra firewall and antivirus. Sometimes I install additional antivirus or anti-spyware etc. to have more insight.
So I feel somewhat safe with that, staying cautious.

Windows XP is very secure. That is why most majour companys and other large databases use it. For example many hospitals use windows XP and sometimes older OS because they are so reliable and all the mistakes and glitches with them have been fixed over many years. However, this does not mean you want to get XP. Windows 7 has so many advantages and unless you have data and other information perfect for hacking like a hospital it is unlikely you will be hacked or get a virus for Win7/win8 unless you do something/download something stupid. Hope I helped.

Long ago it wasn't really secure because windows was never built for good security but now since Microsoft is serious about security windows has upgraded its security all you need now is an anti-virus but remember your computer gets virus for what you do!

Windows with SP3 is secure. You can get viruses on Windows 7 or 8, if you do not have one anti virus or you have a bad one.
