My friends bought me a used xbox 360 a few days ago. I tried to connect to xbox live and it says it's been banned for violating Terms of Use. Is there a support number I can call to get it unbanned? Or can I take it in and get a different console because I have a waranty?

Microsoft won't do anything for you. Once it's banned, they don't support it at all.
Your only chance is to deal with whoever the used console was bought from, assuming that they don't accuse you of tampering with the console.

Calling customer support will get you nowhere. There is no way to unban a console. Just take it back and get a new one since you have a warranty.

In short, no. Once an Xbox is banned, it's permanent. You can try taking it in to get a new one, but that might not work either.

Your best bet would be to get your Xbox all set up and ready then call 1-800-4MY-XBOX (1-800-469-9269) If the problem is able to be resolved a few hours on the phone with professionals will do it.
