Where can I buy a flag bracket?

I am wanting to buy a flag holder for my 08 sportster I want it to hook to the license plate and be centered on the plate. Can only find ones that go out to the side. Any suggestions?

I thought all Harleys came with flag brackets. I'm sure you can buy more at the Harley dealer. You will find them next to the handle bar tassels, gremlin bells, leather saddle bags, and gay pirate costumes.

If you are planning on running one flag knowing the dimension of the flag would be of help. If you want it in the middle you will need to drill two holes in the license plate.
If you are going with the regular car window flag measurements of 12in. X18in., you will be better off. The 3ft. X 5 ft will be a problem due to the force created by the wind and weight of the flag. It will put undue stress on the license plate area.
Try going to Lowes or any other hardware store and pick up some PVC piping. Consider using the 3/4 or 1/2 inch pipe with a rating of 400 to 480 PSI. If you are going to use the screws from the plate run a flat bar from top to bottom for support. Drill holes in the PVC that will match up with the license plate holes. I found running a larger bolt with a lock nut and a wing nut is better, quicker on and quicker off. The longer the pole the more stress you will have. The 3/4 and 1/2 are better used for the 3ftX5ft flag. use smaller PVC if using the 12in.X18in. flag. Remember the lighter the flag the better off you will be. For the 3X5 use the printed flag, not the stitched ones.
Flag etiquette calls for the American flag to be flown on the marching right, which would be your right sitting on the bike. If more flags are desired the American flag must be higher than any other added.
Hope this gives you some idea's, good luck.
Patriot Guard member and have tried different ways, too many to list here.
I run 3 flags and believe me just getting to where I'm going is a test in perseverance.
When we are escorted by the CHP they do not follow the speed limit, we have gotten up to 75mph most of the time and these flags have a mind of their own.
Ride safe and once again good luck.

All the ones I ever saw that went centered became wobbly and fatigued the metal easily. They are put on the side and clamp the way they do because the wind puts an amazing amount of force on those things. You may very well have to put your fabrication skills to work if you require a center mount.

If you want a decent one it will mean making it or try calling at any small engineering works and asking. They might make one for you for a small fee.
