Honestly, red much looks terrible in home gardens. It's better for commercial areas or around city trees or something. I work as a gardener for a professional horticulturist and he hates the red stuff. I recommend looking into a dark mulch, or a more natural coloured mulch because they look a lot better. There is nothing natural about the look of that garish red mulch. So many gardens would look better with other types.There's an excellent type of mulch out there now called CPM (composted pine mulch) which is essentially mulch mixed with compost. As the compost breaks down the nutrients get absorbed into your garden and you're left with a beautiful natural mulch. You can get this at landscape/soil depots.
