Re-post Please answer Ultrasound question?

Re-posted because I only got 2 answers

I had an ultrasound today to find out what I''m having, I'm 17 weeks and it's a boy. I knew before the tech. said anything, I have two boys already and know what to look for. This was a one of those places you pay for not a place your doctor sends you. While doing the ultrasound the tech mention how there was a large black mass in the lower abdomen that she has never seen before in other ultrasounds she has done. She also said it could be the bladder but it looked like it was taken up about half the stomach. I started thinking about it and I never have seen anything like this in the other ultrasounds I have had with my other boys. Does anyone know what this could be, I'm going to call my doctor in the morning but help please does anyone have any idea or been through this themselves. Oh yeah and I know that she said it has to be fluid filled.

I don't think it could be a fluid filled bladder unless something were seriously wrong. A baby does not produce urine or feces until after they are born, since they don't technically eat anything that is digestable until after birth. I wish you would have attached a picture or something to look at. My ultrasounds at 21 weeks show a black mass in the middle of the stomach/chest area, but the ulatrasound tech said it was the heart. When we first saw it, since the tech was moving around the handheld doppler, we couldn't see it beating, but when she turned it into a different angle, we could see it. I agree though with the first poster... since it was done at an independent ultrasound lab, they dont have DOCTORS that can look at the images and evaluate them. I would wait till your doc looks at it and see what he says.

I hope everything turns out ok... God Bless :)

Your stomach appears large for simplest being 14 weeks. It appears like you are round 20-22 weeks. You might be sporting multiple youngster or it might simply be on the grounds that of ways small you're. It all will depend on the ladies's frame. If I have been you I could transfer from that midwife to a brand new one on the grounds that the only you've got now does not sound very legit in any respect. Good Luck hun

Could you post the image? Could it be the fluid he has already ingested? If the ultrasound tech is less experienced, she may not be as helpful as your doctors' tech.
