Why do I keep getting an incompete web page?

Most of you out there has gotten this message at one time or another: "Action canceled! Interrnet Explorer was unable to link to the web page you requested..." you get the picture. My problem is, this error screen does not go away! Every time I attempt to connect with the internet that message will at least partially block the web page I'm on, whether it is AOL, MSN or Yahoo! Hitting the refresh button corrects the problem for awhile until I reboot, then I have to go through this hassle all over again. Incidentallly, I've only been experiencing this problem since I got an old Gateway pc from a friend. I doubt that the brand has anything to do with this but I had no difficulty with my previous (Dell) pc. Any ideas, folks?

Older computers seem to have registry errors and cleaning them often solves
odd behaviors. Download and run CCleaner, it's free.
Do you have automatic updates turned on? If not you should
download the latest explorer.
Or you can download and run Firefox, lots of people like it better.

besides to lyonsinc1's answer i could propose downloading Combofix or Malwarebyte and dealing it/them from risk-free Mode. The virus could certainly have corrupted your AV application such that it particularly is signature isn't regarded (confident, some viruses can do this). get rid of / de-set up all internet browsers, and if the browser is a few thing different than IE, delete the itemizing the place it became put in (as quickly as contaminated Firefox or Opera or the like could carry the virus back to finished tension otherwise -- i've got considered it take place). additionally de-set up and delete your AV application. Then test back utilising Combofix and/or Malwarebyte, and then reinstall each and every little thing.

Perhaps you need to clear your browser history under tools>delete browsing history. You may also need to update your IE @ http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/?WT.srch=1
