Avoid caffeine and alcohol and use 3-5mg of the natural supplement Melatonin before bedtime. Melatonin works well for people over the age of 30.

I'm a tyrant when it comes to having my family battle jetlag! In other words, I absolutely insist on everyone staying awake during daylight hours. I get the kids outside and we stay away from our home where it would be too tempting to just "lay down" for a little while.

To me, coming to China jetlag is much more difficult that going to the States jetlag. Others say the reverse. The first week is always hard, but once past the first two or three days, you can see improvement.

Since you are already going through jetlag, it will likely take a few days to a week to get over it (assuming you traveled from the US to China). Before your next flight you can test fasting before your flight. It is said to speed up your recovery from jetlag.

I would suggest doing your best to set your food and sleep rhythm around that of your current environment. Meaning, wake up at normal local times, eat 3 meals a day at normal time, no naps, and go to sleep at a normal time. If you take naps during the day or mess up this eating schedule, you will have trouble recovering.

Jet lag is a normal thing. Just keep your heart at easy and sleep well at night. Just find something tinteresting to do in the new destinations.
